Winter greetings to all our clients!
This is our last newsletter of 2016 and we want to take the opportunity to say a big thankyou to you - our diverse and interesting customer base, who are working on so many interesting and useful projects and campaigns, from the very local to the very global. We are very happy to be of service and we appreciate your continued custom.
Below you will find some important announcements about Netuxo's products and services. Please read them and, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
Once again we have had a very busy year, with new challenges, new clients and new personnel. Looking ahead we are also very pleased to know that we will be working with some of you again on some great projects during 2017.
None of us really "do" Christmas, but we hope you get a really good break and time to do the things you want to do.

Winter break times
We have reduced staff capacity from today - Monday 19 December - and the office will be closed from 24 December - until 3 January, inclusive. Some emergency support will be provided over the period and, if you do need help, please use the normal methods: support@netuxo.co.uk / +44 20 8985 6843 - though be aware that response times will be slower than usual.

Either or both can be redeemed at any time during 2017 - just let us know when you place a new order or receive a renewal invoice.
Mailserver
Over the summer many of you will remember that we migrated a large number of websites to new and improved hosting infrastructure. It is now time for our aging mailserver to get the same treatment. Over the past few months we have been doing the groundwork for this migration to new hardware and software - which will bring increased performance and improved anti-spam features.
It is not without some challenges - thousands of messages are coming and going every day and we want to ensure continuity of service during the migration process. We expect to carry out this work during the first half of 2017 and will be in touch with all mail hosting clients in advance.
New payment methods
After migrating to a new book-keeping service over the summer we can now accept payments via GoCardless and PayPal. Whilst several clients have been settling their invoices manually using PayPal for card payments (or via their own PayPal account), the integration with invoicing is a new feature and should make things much easier.
For GoCardless we will be contacting many clients in the coming months to offer you a Direct Debit mandate. This will be particularly helpful for annual hosting package and regular service contract payments. Watch out for the new payment buttons on your next invoice.
Withdrawal of payment by cheque
From 31 March 2017 we will no longer accept payment by cheques in the post. The following payment methods will continue to be available:
- By bank transfer
- By using a credit or debit card
- By Direct debit via GoCardless
- By using a PayPal account
- By paying in cash or cheque to our bank account via your own branch or direct from your own account (eg if you do not use online banking)
New work/services
During the second half of 2016 we welcomed Jan onto the team and are pleased to now be able to offer more specialised WordPress development alongside our core Drupal work. Get in touch if you are looking to develop or redevelop a WordPress site
We have also been very lucky to have Carmen - our new finance worker - join the team this year and help us roll out some improvements to both internal and customer-facing workflows.
Late payers :(
No doubt a few of you will have been in contact with Carmen in recent months as she gets on top of late payments. This is an area that causes us a very disproportionate amount of time, cost and pain - chasing the very small number of clients who neither settle their invoices on time, nor communicate with us to discuss or explain.
We are very nice and tolerant people who are loathe to take away services from our clients, but there has to be some limits and we will be more ruthless in 2017! So, if you have any problems settling your invoice within the 30-day period given, please talk to us - in the vast majority of cases we are happy to agree additional time to pay. However... if you do not pay and you also do not communicate with us within 60 days of the invoice date we will now remove websites, release domains, and stop mail services. As we are sure you are aware, this still represents substantially more generous and accommodating terms than can be found elsewhere.
Hosting package prices
We have held our prices for the past two years (last increased in April 2015) and we now want to give you plenty of notice that, in a bid to streamline our services, from 1 April 2017 we will be adopting a range of new hosting packages with a new pricing structure. We will be in touch with all clients at least 30 days in advance of renewals with information regarding your new package, an invitation to pay by Direct Debit, and your annual invoice.
Netuxo offers web hosting, email hosting, or combined packages. Here's a quick overview...
- BASIC: Suitable for individuals and very small groups with one website and simple email requirements
- MEDIUM: Suitable for small organisations with one or more websites and more demanding email requirements
- LARGE: Suitable for small to medium sized organisations with one or more websites who require higher performance, greater storage, more databases and mailboxes
